Midtown is located East of Downtown and west of what’s known as East Memphis. The historic Cooper-Young neighborhood and Central Gardens are located in Midtown. Close to many of Memphis’ colleges and universities, it’s home to Overton Square filled with entertainment spots and restaurants. The old Sears building has been redeveloped into Crosstown Concourse with new businesses, restaurants, nightspots, art galleries, vintage clothing stores, coffee houses and street festivals.
Midtown is home to the Medical District, Brooks Museum of Art, the Memphis Zoo, Liberty Bowl Stadium and the annual Cooper-Young festival.
